Can NRIs buy health insurance for parents living in Kerala?

This is the most common request we handle at Maaxus. The insured is your parent (an Indian resident), so the policy is a standard Indian health plan — you are simply the proposer and payer. You share documents on WhatsApp, we complete the proposal digitally, your parent attends a medical check-up near home if required, and the policy is issued with you paying from abroad. Senior-entry plans accept parents up to age 75.

Can NRIs buy term life insurance from India?

Yes, and it's usually cheaper than buying equivalent cover in the Gulf. Indian insurers issue term plans to NRIs in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman with cover up to ₹5 crore and beyond. You'll need your passport, visa or residence permit, income proof, and to complete a medical — increasingly via video tele-medical, or during your next Kerala visit. Premiums can be paid from NRE accounts, and claims are payable to your nominee in India.
