Care Health cashless hospitals in Kerala: how to find them and use cashless treatment
Care Health has cashless network hospitals across Kerala, including the major private hospitals in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Thrissur. To use cashless treatment you go to a network hospital, show your Care Health ID at the insurance desk, and the hospital gets pre-authorization from Care, which then settles the covered bill directly. Always confirm a specific hospital is on the list before you buy, because a large network headline means little if your own hospital is not on it.
How do you find Care Health cashless hospitals in Kerala?
Check the hospital by name rather than trust a network headline. Care Health publishes a network hospital locator on its website where you can search by state, district and city, and the hospital's own insurance desk can confirm whether it currently has a cashless tie-up with Care. Networks change, so verify close to when you need it. Before we place any Care Health policy, we check your two or three preferred hospitals near home by name and tell you plainly whether they are cashless, because that is what actually decides your experience on the day of an admission.
How does cashless treatment work at a Care Health hospital?
At a network hospital you do not pay the covered amount up front. Show your Care Health policy ID card or number at the insurance desk, and they raise a pre-authorization request to Care. For planned treatment, start this about 48 hours ahead; for an emergency, within 24 hours of admission. Care approves the request and settles the covered bill directly with the hospital. You pay only what the policy does not cover, such as any co-payment, the difference if you chose a room above your limit, or excluded items. That is the whole advantage of cashless: no arranging lakhs of rupees at the counter during a crisis.
- Cashless works only at Care Health network hospitals
- Planned admission: request pre-authorization about 48 hours before
- Emergency: intimate within 24 hours of admission
- You still pay co-payment, room-rent excess and excluded charges
- Always confirm your specific hospital is currently in the network
What if your preferred hospital is not a Care Health network hospital?
You can still be treated there, but not cashless. You pay the bill yourself and claim it back through reimbursement, submitting the claim form, original bills, reports and the discharge summary to Care within 15 days of discharge. It is covered, just not as convenient, because you carry the cost until Care pays you back. This is why choosing a plan around the hospitals you actually use matters more than the size of the network. If your trusted hospital is not with Care, we can check which insurer does have it in their cashless network before you commit.
What else should you check besides the hospital list?
Care Health settles claims through its own in-house team rather than routing them through a separate third-party administrator, which usually means quicker pre-authorization and fewer hand-offs at the hospital desk. But the network is only one factor. Also check the room-rent limit, the no-claim bonus, waiting periods for pre-existing conditions and any co-payment, because these decide how much of a big bill actually gets paid. Tell us your family's ages and preferred hospitals, and we will show you whether Care or another insurer fits best, in plain language.
